Cottages in the Lake District

Brocklebank Ground Holiday Cottages are three luxury self catering holiday cottages in Torver village on the outskirts of Coniston in the Lake District, only half a mile from the lake of Coniston Water and close to the foot of the Old Man of Coniston.

The holiday Cottages are 4 star E.T.C. rated, they have been converted from an original Lakeland ‘Bank Barn. All retaining many original features including beamed ceilings, cobbles and exposed stone walls, situated along a tarmaced private driveway 200yds from the road with a enclosed gardens and private parking area with woodland and fells to the rear, excellent views to the front across Torver common which is an ideal place to exercise well behaved dogs which are welcome in the Holiday Cottages.

The Holiday Cottages are ideally placed for walkers wanting to explore the Lake district countryside on foot, with footpaths from the door both onto Coniston Old Man or across Torver common to Coniston Water itself, as well as being an excellent base for touring the Lake District by car with Ambleside and Lake Windermere being only 15 minutes drive away.

The difficult decision for guests being whether to eat in at the cosy fireside in the Holiday Cottages or to sample the local atmosphere in one of the 2 excellent pubs which are only a 600yds walk away.
Since the properties are managed by the owners who live on site, we are able to offer the special personal touch and try to help with any special requests in advance of arrival such as deliveries from Asda and Tesco.

The enclosed garden provides a perfect place for sitting out with a relaxing drink, having a barbecue, (these are provided) whilst allowing a safe area for children to play.

Details of local walks, places to eat and drink and sightseeing attractions are provided in each Holiday Cottage as well as an initial supply of logs for the fires.
